Were you born in Ghana before 1947? Do you have vivid memories of Ghana’s independence celebrations in 1957? Did you journey to the UK in search of further study, training or to start a new life?
If so, Black Cultural Archives would like to hear from you, and invites you to attend one of their three reminiscence workshops in March or April. You'll have the opportunity to get your stories recorded, and your picture taken by an internationally acclaimed photographer, Dr Vanley Burke. The work, in partnership with the Royal Geographical Society will contribute to an exhibition mixing stories, objects and photographs from the era.
Workshops will take place between 11- 2pm on 20th March, 4th and 16th April 2007, in London. Black Cultural Archives is offering transport and translators for those who need it, and refreshments for all.
