Tibet Foundation organises the most comprehensive and varied programme of Tibetan Cultural events in the UK.

Our past events have included:

Public talks on Tibetan Buddhism by Lamas and scholars such as H. H. the Dalai Lama, H. H. Sakya Trizin and H. H. Penor Rinpoche.

Tours by monks and lay performing artists.

Visits by Tibetan Physicians to give medical consultations and lectures in the UK.

Workshops and seminars on a variety of Tibetan subjects.

Tibetan language courses (both spoken and written).

Tibetan fairs - including arts and crafts available from our Tibet Shop.

We also have a series of collections of Tibetan art and artifacts to increase the awareness of Tibetan Culture in the West. These include:

The 'Tibet - A living Culture' exhibition.

The design and maintenance of Samten Kyil, the Tibetan Peace Garden in London.

Tibet Foundation supports the documentation and preservation of Tibetan Culture through:

Recording and Publishing of Tibetan music through Tibet Foundation Recordings.

The Museum Of London's new microsite allows you to search for the story of the many cultures of London in their collections.

This image shows Sir Mancherjee Bhownaggree, MP for Bethnal Green 1895 - 1906. A supporter of British rule in India, he was nicknamed 'bow-the-knee' by opponents. However he also lobbied parliament on the rights of Indian subjects.
