By Invitation Only: Turkish Cypriots In London


The Turkish Cypriot Community Association is running an oral history project that will record and document the experiences of first generation Turkish Cypriots’ arrival in England during the 1940s to the early 1960s. It is the first project to capture these histories.

An exhibition associated with the project showed at Bruce Castle Museum and Hackney Museum in 2005 and early 2006. It will tour to two more venues in South and West London in the remainder of 2006 before being permanently held at the Turkish Cypriot Community Association.
